Familiar names before the reorganisation: Đà Nẵng, Quảng Nam.

The enlarged Đà Nẵng includes Hội An; this guide uses Hội An as a base for its old town, craft villages and nearby coast.

BUILDING THE FUTURE

Phan Chau Trinh — Learning as a path to renewal

His home village was Tay Loc in former Quang Nam, now in Tay Ho commune, Da Nang.

Discover the reformer's Tay Loc roots and the Duy Tan movement's commitment to education.

Phan Chau Trinh (1872–1926), pen name Tay Ho, came from Tay Loc. A patriot in the Duy Tan movement, he championed education and social reform.

The Tay Loc memorial connects his story with his homeland. Let that commitment to learning inspire practical contributions: honest experiences, evidence-based feedback and shared local improvement.

Places to understand the story

Consider the Phan Chau Trinh memorial house in Tay Loc, Tay Ho commune, Da Nang, and local materials on the Duy Tan movement.
